The design approach for this project is based on three key principles: orientation, user comfort, and environmental sustainability. Located on a narrow site in a warm, temperate region, with longer sides of the site facing East and West, designing to respond to context was key in this Project.
The design boasts an angular, stepped faƧade that mitigates harsh sunlight while also creating generous outdoor spaces for the luxurious bedrooms. This thoughtful design not only ensures comfort but also harmonizes with the natural environment by optimizing natural ventilation and providing stunning views of the surrounding nature. A series of strategically placed punctures within the building’s narrow volume channels wind through open-to-sky volumes, enhancing airflow throughout the structure.
The integrates spaces for various amenities, including banquet halls, restaurants, and a spa. These help in revenue generation and are meticulously crafted in a way that they connect to to both open and closed spaces, promoting a seamless interaction between indoor luxury and outdoor serenity. The strategic layout of services and circulations with separate access routes for guests and services ensures a smooth operational flow of movement and functionality throughout the space. Every public space is carefully linked to utility areas, aligning the design to its intent and prioritizing user comfort.
Through a careful selection of materials, the project reflects local culture and sustainability. Clad in locally sourced stone and adorned with intricate jali patterns, the hotel exudes a royal yet sustainable aesthetic. These maintenance-free materials offer passive cooling and reduce heat absorption reducing environmental impact . Thus the architectural expression harmoniously balances the environment and services to create a minimalist, warm, and highly functional boutique-style retreat that captures the essence of luxury.
